The case

Why people move assets out of the house

Federal Reserve vault standard

9R-rated structure — the highest UL vault specification available to a civilian facility. Two 14,000-pound John Tann steel doors imported from England form a waterproof, airtight seal.

Engineered for South Florida

Rated for sustained winds above 250 mph and sealed against storm surge. The vault has come through every hurricane season since 1983 without a single asset lost.

Independent of the banking system

A bank failure, branch closure, or regulatory action cannot restrict your access. Your box is a private contract, not a bank account.

Insured through Lloyd’s of London

Institutional coverage is available for stored contents — unlike a bank safe deposit box, where contents carry no FDIC protection at all.

Pricing

Common questions

Is Florida Intervault a bank?
No. It is a private, family-owned vault facility. It does not offer banking services, and stored contents are not FDIC insured — though contents insurance is available separately through Lloyd’s of London.
What does a box cost?
Boxes run from $795 a year for a 3×5×24 up to $12,500 for a 30×15×24. Paying annually is cheaper than monthly by design — the monthly rate is the annual divided by ten.
Can staff open my box?
No. No Florida Intervault staff member can open a client box unilaterally.
What happens to my box if I die?
With a beneficiary on file, or a box rented through a trust, named parties get access without probate. This is the most common reason clients move a box away from a bank.
Do you serve clients outside Fort Lauderdale?
Yes — across Broward County and into Palm Beach and Miami-Dade. Armored transport covers the whole of Florida.
Can I see the vault before renting?
Yes, and we recommend it. Tours are private and by appointment. You will see the vault door, the man-trap entry, and the box sizes in person.
